Yes, the GNU C Library (glibc), provides libresolv.so.2, however, the
libresolv.so.2 you have is different in ways that indicate it has been patched
by the 3rd party that provided it to you. The symbol
_res_maybe_init@GLIBC_PRIVATE which is undefined in your copy of
libresolv.so.2, should not exist, and so it means some 3rd party has patched
your copy of libresolv.so.2. You need to contact that 3rd party for assistance.
For example if your /usr/lib/libresolv.so.2 is provided by Red Hat, the you
should file a bug with them https://bugzilla.redhat.com/.
