Bug #: 13885
Summary: expm1l inaccurate for x86_64/x86
Product: glibc
Version: 2.15
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: math
AssignedTo: unassigned@sourceware.org
ReportedBy: jsm28@gcc.gnu.org
Classification: Unclassified
The x86 and x86_64 implementations of expm1l, for exponents below 128, involve
a value of log2 (e) to long double precision, when a more accurate value (as in
expl) is needed. For example, this results in a 75ulp error for expm1l (127)
on x86_64.
