What makes you believe the problem has *anything* to do with glibc?
Even if it does, you'll have to dig *much* deeper into diagnosing it before
anyone could help you.
Take one of the working distributions, and upgrade the kernel to match one of
the non-working ones. If that still works (which is somewhat unlikely), then
upgrade glibc.
Continue upgrading packages, until you find one which breaks your setup.
Once found, try to figure out *why* it does, and file a bug against it *with
supporting evidence*.
