First, this is not an upstream version. Second, it's old, never report problems
which are not against the current code. Third, this is no leak. A leak would
cause unlimited memory over time to be lost. This is one block which has to be
kept around since the lifetime is not known and which isn't freed on program
shutdown since this is in general just a waste of time.
