Not that this would be something new, but with readline having seen a
major update (readline-6.x) all "dirty" spots, where gdb accesses
readline-5.x's internals pop up again.

There's only one such issue that I know of. Both Debian and Fedora carry a patch for it; might want to ask Jan K. to ping the patch.

I gave Jan's/Fedora's gdb-readline-6.0.patch a try and found it to be doing the job sufficiently well for me. For the moment, I am going to adopt it into RTEMS gdb patches.

Jan, I would appreachiate it if your patch was "upstreamed" and integrated into the upcoming gdb-6.9.
