wanted: someone to modify gdb for money

We're using powerpc-elf-gdb on a reasonably large project and it works
pretty well. It could work better, probably without a great deal of work.
We don't have the time to acquire the expertise to do the work but we do
have the money to pay someone who has the time and the expertise. An
initial task might be speeding up gdb's macro execution when operating on
big .elf files. I have, for example, a macro which uses no types other than
"char" which operates like lightening on a 5M .elf file and like a snail
with a 100M .elf file. If this goes well other tasks might include
improving C++ support and using lazy evaluation in the UI so that, for
example, the whole of an array isn't downloaded from our embedded systems if
only the first element is going to be displayed. An ideal candidate would
have gcc skills too and be able to suggest modifications to our code and to
gcc for better performance. "Porting" our code from gcc-2.95.2, SGI stl-2.2
and a somewhat "adhoc" standard library to gcc-3 and libstdc++-v3 would be a
good introduction. One of our concerns would be to ensure that any work
done was merged into the tree, so we wouldn't suffer upgrade problems. A
prior history of accepted patches would be convincing evidence of
suitability for the job.
