I'm on Ubuntu 16.04, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any package
providing libtinfow.so (I suppose that it depends on the way you configure and
build ncurses).
Can you also give the error from the configure log?
In any case, I suggest you send a patch directly to gdb-patches@sourceware.org,
as this is the way we handle patches. See instructions here:
