Sorry for the long delay in responding.
GCC 3.1 did not output useful information about nested classes. Later versions (GCC 3.4 and later, I believe) are much more helpful. GDB 6.x is also considerably cleverer about class hierarchy and namespaces. I can not reproduce this bug and I believe it is fixed.
