Right. Carlos O'Donell tried to take this on but glibc has taken all
his time. Almost all my time is spent on gcc support. Randolph Chung
provides occassional help in different areas. He is currently
working on the libffi port. Alan Modra helps out from time to
time on binutils. However, the reality is that we are stretched
very thin given the pace of development in these projects.
All this work requires a reasonably functional debugger. I would
certainly welcome a PA-RISC maintainer for gdb. We can probably
limp along as is for a while but it would be nice if things worked
a bit better.
This is a great opportunity for someone to learn more than they ever
wanted to know about debug formats, the PA assembly language, object
formats, runtimes, the dynamic loader, etc (i.e., the core of how things
really work).
