[PUSHED] OBVIOUS Remove a useless const char *type and its initialization.


Valgrind detected a leak for the line:
  type = xstrdup ("auto");

as the compile probably dropped the type variable completely, as its
only usage was this initialization.

So, remove the useless variable.
