 Well, certainly both are procedural and thus closer to C than e.g. M4. ;)

 Good hint ;) -- I did some Ada hackery when trying to make the compiler 
work better for MIPS/Linux (any interest in that, BTW?) and it was 
somewhat tricky.

 I know neither of them well enough to make any comments.  Unfortunately I 
do not seem to see any interest in supporting languages like Lisp or 
Prolog with GCC yet. ;)
