It should probably be moved to gdb.hp. I'd prefer to just take your patch, thanks. The concept is applicable to all targets (including remotes), although it's unclear if anybody other than HP will ever have the energy to implement user-settable limits on the quantity of solib symbols loaded. Note that HP sets their default limit to 100 MB(!), which says something about the size of executables that their customers are using GDB on... Stan
