We can get high resolution pictures included in both HTML and PDF, if we

I believed it worked in Epic, but I never tried Jade (it being irrelevant
for HTML). One issue to watch out for is that it mustn't affect the HTML
production since that already works at the proper resolution.
But JPG is a crappy format for screenshots. I guess Jade doesn't support
GIFs due to the long-standing patent issue. Do you know if Jade supports
other more suitable bitmap formats? PNG would be ideal I guess. The
"convert" utility supports that and quite a few others certainly.
In the case that the pictures are not converted to a higher resolution than
the original (a 72 dpi screen resolution) the resulting import to pdf is also
poor (72dpi).
So you're saying it's no better than the alternative after all?
