V850E/MS1 serial port driver

Hi everyone,
I'm still in the process of porting eCos to NEC's V850E/MS1 (based on
the V850/SA1 Cosmo board port) which went reasonably well so far but now
I've hit a snag: Has anyone ever tried to port over the v850x_v850 serial
driver to a newer V850 variant i.e. MS/1 or MA/1? I mean NEC engineers
renaming and rearranging almost every damn register in every new version
of their chip aside, I've tried to convert the existing driver to support
MS/1 and tried to make it easy to later get in MA/1 as well, but now with
more #ifdefs than normal code I think writing it from scratch would have
been a better idea. Anyone ever tried this and got it working properly?
