8xx, and 5xx are supported. The 5xx has only been tested on mpc555. I

You have to make the changes to eCos available. What you do with the
application is your own decision.

It is the maintainers' discretion what makes it into the CVS tree and
what doesn't. If it is good quality code, has been tested, and is a
usefull enhancement to eCos, it's got a good chance of getting
integrated.

Yes, as long as you make the changes to eCos itself public.
