sources.redhat.com already has extensive spam filtering on all mailing
lists. I do not have current statistics, but I suspect that some days
the number of filtered spams exceeds legitimate postings. However the
filtering is not perfect, and occasionally a spam will get through.

There are a couple of ways in which the rules can be tightened on a
per-list basis, e.g. only allowing subscribers to post, but those all
have disadvantages. Given the fairly small number of spams that make
it through the filters, I think the current setup is about right.
