Ethernet status for synth eCos

Dear eCos realm:

We are going to have to do a lot of Redboot development, and it has occurred
to us that the "synthetic" target on Linux would be a terrific environment
in which to do this work. We do need networking capability though, since
much of the work we have to do requires this. Specifically, we are going
to have to extend the Redboot bootp functionality to do some Special Stuff
required by our product.

My question is this: What is the status of networking support in synth
eCos? Does it seem to you that we might be able to get networking in
Linux synth eCos to work in the way we need (i.e. to do bootp)?

Thanks in advance,
