Backspace in RedBoot

hi
i am logged in via ethernet to redboot.
Performing the command "fconfig" brings
the well known line
Run script at boot: false
but i am not able to change the
word "false" with backspace.
This only happens when logged in via
ethernet. (i have no serial port)
Any hints?
