I was searching through the discussion database about RedBoot, and found the
post below.

You don't actually require an "fis init" for RedBoot on the EDB7211 board,
do you? All I did to get rid of the checksum error was run "fconfig" and
follow the prompts. Also, right after downloading the RedBoot ROM image I
typed "fis list", and it did display a list of images so I assume that the
FIS was initialized at startup.

But presumably you can't do an fconfig until you've done an "fis init", so
both steps are required in order.
Actually it's a good point that I don't think this is covered in the
RedBoot user's guide. I'll add it.
