There is indeed a bug in the Tools->Platforms dialog code which prevents new
toolchain tuples (eg i386-elf) from being added, but if you already have one
platform defined which uses i386-elf tools you can add others.
The workaround, is to install the standard set of platform definitions provided
with eCos 2.0 by double clicking on the file
/opt/ecos/ecos-2.0/tools/bin/platforms.reg from the Windows Explorer.
