Just seen this, saxon is outputting ™ which doesnt work. I havent yet tried getting it to output the &#8482 but Ill try tommorrow.

Yes, but Saxon only produces HTML entity references for characters within
the ISO-8859-1 range. The trade mark sign is not in that range. So Saxon
never outputs &trade;, only &#x2122; or &#8482;.
