Mmm OK you've seen it before.
Today I spent the day not putting in pointy brackets
and still getting out good docbook article markup.
Restricted set yes, but sections to 4 levels, enough
inlines, links, tables etc.

** level 2
etc.
para
*---+---+
table cell | cell
etc.
Java code, built as part of an editor (xxe), and I found it
really quite impressive.

look for apt plug in, pull the .jar file and have some fun.
Also outputs html, pdf, tex etc.
