DOCBOOK-APPS: Request for Example Uses

I am interested in finding out if anyone has used DocBook for any of the
following types of documents; if so, is there any example XML documents
and/or  XSL stylesheets for conversion to HTML that one can share with me.
I have a project I am starting and would like to follow someone else's
set-up as an example for our authors (e.g. what did they uses emphasis for,
how did they portray code blocks, what kinds of metadata did they capture).
I feel I would be reinventing the wheel when it isn't really necessary to
just start building my own definition of how I would use DocBook in these if
I went off and started work.

Here are some example uses:

IT Policy (Guidance) Documents
Programming Tutorials/How-To's
Programming and IT Standards
Application and System Specifications

I strongly feel DocBook would be an excellent application of this, but would
like to get a jump start with someone's examples.
