- Subject: RE: DOCBOOK-APPS: OT: Searching HTML
The HTML files are meant to be distributed on CD.
The files are mainly viewed on MS Windows with MS IE installed.
I'm looking for similar search capabilities as HTML Help.
(I'm not looking for a particular interface.)
Maybe I could even switch to HTML Help altogether, but I would like to know
about the possibilities with html as well.
Thanks,
Simon.

There are many possibilities for searching.
The choice depends on your requirements. Is this
for you personally? Do you distribute your
output and expect to distribute
the search system with it? What computing platforms
do you have to support? Do you want to just identify
files that have a certain word, or do you want
boolean logic, word endings, etc.? What kind of
interface do you want for the query and for
the search results?
