- Subject: LC_COLLATE vs. egrep -- bug or (non-)feature?
Is this a feature, or a bug associated with the current ongoing
discussion about locales:
> LC_ALL= egrep '^[a-b]l[dl]e.n$' /usr/share/dict/words
aldern
> LC_COLLATE= egrep '^[a-b]l[dl]e.n$' /usr/share/dict/words
aldern

If it's a feature, how do I set LC_COLLATE w/o changing the other
aspects of my locale?
Relevant bits of cygcheck -s:

DLL version: 1.7.10
DLL identifier: cygwin1
grep 2.6.3-1 OK
