Re: .exe magic in Cygwin

Hello,

I would like to estimate the expenses to port general linux sources to Cygwin.

I did look into Cygwins patch for coreutils. It has 1231 lines of diff
code. A lot of the stuff is related to the ".exe" magic done by
cygwin.

Do I have to implement that magic in this extend into every package
that I would like to run on Cygwin or is this rather special in the
case of coreutils?

Coreutils tends to be an exception, because it is so core to the system. Other tools that I also maintain, like m4 or findutils, port with 0 patches.
