- Reply-to: cygwin at cygwin dot com
GRUB2 is now part of the cygwin distribution.
http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/grub-2.en.html
GRUB2 is a portable powerful bootloader. This new version of GRUB
is based on a cleaner design than its predecessors.
The package contains an experimental version of GRUB2. It is based
on a recent snapshot from upstream CVS. I have added some fixes
which allow to build and run the GRUB2 support tools on Cygwin, and
also allow to build the native bootloader binaries on Cygwin.
Package contents:
etc/grub.d/* (Scripts called by update-grub)
usr/bin/grub-fstest.exe (Test filesystem driver on device or image)
usr/bin/grub-mkimage.exe (Make boot image, used by grub-install/mkrescue)
usr/bin/grub-mkrescue (Make bootable rescue cdrom or floppy image)
usr/sbin/grub-emu.exe (GRUB emulator)
usr/sbin/grub-install (Install GRUB on a device)
usr/sbin/grub-mkdevicemap.exe (Generate device.map file)
usr/sbin/grub-probe.exe (Probe device info, used by scripts)
usr/sbin/grub-setup.exe (Write images to device, used by grub-install)
usr/sbin/update-grub (Generate /boot/grub/grub.cfg)
usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/*.img (Bootloader kernel and bootsector images)
usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/*.mod (Bootloader ELF modules)
usr/share/grub/unifont.pff (Font for graphical interface)
