Those instructions don't automatically run d2u.  Rather, they tell bash to
behave differently than it does on Linux by ignoring the \r.  For the best
performance, leave shell scripts on binary mount points, and run them
through d2u if needed; the ignoring \r features are crutches for people
who can't use the fastest behavior for whatever other reason.
