I believe msize (or _msize) is non-standard. It's at least a Microsoft
extension, but may be present in other compiler libraries. However, it
sounds like it's not available in cygwin's C library (newlib).
You may want to see if malloc_usable_size can be substituted (see man
malloc for details).
