IMHO, they are. Windows programs often put directories containing spaces
in the system path. ex:
/cygdrive/c/Program Files/ATI Technologies/ATI Control Panel
> export PATH=~/bin:$PATH
How 'bout using a temp, or just plain $HOME as suggested before?
