My view is we're all newbies wrt _something_ or other...

It certainly can come over like that, perhaps even a touch of 'these mugs
are giving this away, so maybe they'll do X for me too. As I'm feeling
optimistic today I'd rather believe that people just assume that as the
maintainers put so much time into what they do anyway they _must_ be
interested in _anything_ remotely (or not) related...

Amen to that.
cgf may sometimes come over a little snappy sometimes (IDD anyone?) but I'm
not sure I'd have the same patience dealing with all the stuff that comes
his way. I strongly suspect it'd be more like "for the ten thousandth time
RTFM and STFU" etc.
While it may be true that TANSTAAFL but as far I'm concerned cygwin is worth
far more than I paid for it...
I sometimes wonder why you all bother, but I'm glad you do, thanks.
