There is no /cygdrive/c/home/pdavis directory, so there's no .bashrc
file in there to run.  Even if I explicitly type

	source /cygdrive/c/home/.bashrc

I don't get the aliases defined.  Moreover, if I simply type

	more ~/.bashrc

I see the correct file.

Will running setup (I assume you mean the cygwin setup.exe) again
automatically re-create /etc/passwd?  I'm game to try it.  

I'm not sure where it gets the account information from.  If it's from
some Windows account data, then I suspect it's creating a separate
pdavis and Pdavis account because the machine has one, pdavis, for local
login, and the other, Pdavis, for logging into the workgroup that we
have setup here. I had forgotten about that earlier.  I think normally
I'm logged in to the workgroup (Pdavis) account, and never use the other
one.  Would that cause a problem?
