Cannot create a working .Xauthority:
$ xauth generate :0 . trusted
xauth: (argv):1: couldn't query Security extension on display ":0"
$ echo $DISPLAY
127.0.0.1:0.0
$ xauth generate $DISPLAY . trusted
xauth: (argv):1: couldn't query Security extension on display
"127.0.0.1:0.0"
