Firstly, the project's official name is Cygwin/XFree86.

I call those the "Server Test Series".  You can denote a particular release
with either "Test XX", "TestXX", or "Server Test XX".

Well, you could call Xxserv.tgz the latest stable release.  However, there
are rarely regressions in the Server Test Series, so it is usually the case
that the most recent Server Test is the most stable.

I wouldn't call either of these beta servers, as that indicates that they
are lacking some basic functionality, or that they crash a lot.  That simply
isn't the case.  There are some features that users would like, such as an
integrated window manager, and better cut and paste support, but those are
typically handled by external programs; the lack of these features does not
indicate that the X Server is lacking functionality.

Let me reiterate: neither Xxserv.tgz nor Test 49 are considered beta.
