The fresh Win95c installation showed the same problem. So it seems to be a
Win95c problem.
I've created a small test program which uses the same code as XWin does.
It will soon appear on
<http://www-usercgi.tu-chemnitz.de/~goal/xfree/ls_netdev.tar.gz>
The program tries to get the network configuration via ioctl and prints
the configuration. On Win98, Win95a and Linux :) it prints the configuration
for lo (loopback) and eth0 (first network card). On Win95c it only prints
the lo configuration.
