After starting the X-Server, xev gives for Alt-Gr
State 0x2000, keycode 113 (keysym 0xff7e, Mode_switch), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 characters: ""

It should work.
What does xev say when pressing Alt-Gr.

It works for me. I've not tested the latest release so far, but I don't
expect changes.
