Well, I'm trying not to be US-centric, so you'll have to try not to be
Euro-centric :) Note that Windows does not generate a fake Control_L press
for non-European keyboards.
Alexander's Test 5 does not handle the Control_L key quite correctly. I use
Control_L all the time in emacs, so having a broken Control_L key just isn't
going to cut it.
We're not going to solve this problem halfway, only to have to solve it
again later. Rather, we are looking for a complete solution that will fix
the problem for good; thus the discussion on the list.
