OK, I installed Harold's test case : OverlayAndNoDITest_tar.bz2 (from
xfree/test on one of the mirror sites)
This gave me a much better result on the DirectX window, but still the xterm
and othe goodies weren't up properly.
The error messages were about the "Unknown Commutator /B" in the startxwin.bat.
Not knowing what to do about it, I replaced it with the /max commutator.
I also replaced vtwm by twm (because I could find vtwm).
And then I had to reboot Windows...
Finally I got it working by only starting twm (commenting out the xterm and
rxvt from startxwin.bat).
I can then start xterm from twm.
I still get an MSDOS window that opens when the twm is started, is the /B used
to avoid this? is it a problem ? what commutator should I use ?
Any other recommentations to have a better behavior ? Thanks
Pat.
