Actually, he's not using Cygwin at all and thus this entire discussion
is completely off-topic -- no need to specially add extra off-topicness.

win-bash uses no Cygwin code at all, so none of the cygdrive examples
will probably work.  From the win-bash home page:

There is a (mostly) functional 1.14.7 version available. It currently
doesn't work well with subprocesses,redirection and signals, but most of
the normal shell features are available.

Yeesh, why would you want to use some bastardized half-working piece of
crap when you can just use Cygwin?
