Well, it made sure that the original question was answered correctly in
the archives, rather than by a guess from the OP.  He would have
eventually noticed whatever differences in behavior there are between
textmode.o and automode.o, and started the whole discussion again.  Other
than that, the textmode.o answer was probably fine. :-)
