Did you ever convince yourself that this was a reasonable fix, Egor?
The vmin and vtime stuff has always made my head hurt so I can't offer
much help, I'm afraid.
I would like to get a new release out the door, though. Especially since
I need to get something new released to accommodate gcc 3.2.
