Can you have a look at what's in svn trunk, please? I'd sure like to help you by checking, but I'm no user of crosstool-ng, and I don't have any svn setup - sorry. (I'm on this list only because I recently used the old crosstool, but targeting an existing kernel and system libraries.) So what I can do is limited to looking at mails and related stuff, and comment on this from my personal experience (we recently moved our central build host from Linux to Solaris, where we met our dependency on features only provided in GNU tool implementations).
