[Solved] OS X 10.5 -> x86-linux-gnu

Of course, the day after I sent a message here, I worked
out the problem I was seeing with the x86 cross toolchain.

The problem was with my distcc configuration; because
distcc was involking "gcc" when building for x86, it was
picking up the Apple compiler, which obviously won't work.

There probably wasn't anything wrong with the toolchain,
only my assumptions about distccd's PATH.  Whoops.
