Error: cannot represent SWI relocation in this object file format

Hi All,
I'm trying to build a toolchain for arm-linux target with 
binutils-2.15, gcc-3.4.2 and glibc-2.3.3 and kernel headers linux-2.6.9
on an x86 host running FC3.

While building the glibc-2.3.3 i get the following error.

I have made sure that the include/asm points to the correct asm-arm directory. 
I have no idea how to proceed from here(Should i change my Binutils
version?). Please help me out.
