Hi, I am trying to build a cross-compiler for MIPS processor. My host system is Redhat 7.2, kernel - 2.4.7-10. I am planning to use target as "mips-elf". The binaries produced by such cross-compiler are supposed to be executed on a MIPS simulator, which may not have support for linux system calls. So, in this context, I would like to know whether "mips-elf" is the correct target or not. I suppose "mips-linux" needs linux kernel support on MIPS processor. Also, I would like to know whether I should build glibc or newlib. In one of crossgcc mails, I have read that glibc supports only linux environment on target processor. If somebody can provide me pointers, where I can find configuration options, scripts for building binutils, gcc, glibc or newlib for mips-elf, that would be of great help. Regards, Abhijit. --
