Hello Jan,
Depending on what you are trying to do (embedded linux or just
crosscompiling for a 'naked' board), I suggest you read up on the good FAQ,
put together by Bill Gatliff.
It is a step-by-step approach in building a crosscompiler.
Both targets (arm-linux, arm-elf (and a bunch of others too btw)) are listed
in there...
Good luck,
Jan
(ps: hehe, u probably didn't expect this reply to come from a siemens
employee huh? ;)

Subject: compiling for ARM
Hello all,
My question may seem really stupid to you, but since I am really
newbie on using GCC for other processors: here it comes...
I have gcc-2.9.6 installed on my Mandrake 8.0 box (AMD Thunderbird ->
x686). I wonder how I can compile for an ARM7TDMI processor and debug it
via the simulator in GDB.
Kind regards,
Jan
