There's a front end for GDB which might make it a bit easier:

	xxgdb

And probably several others (maybe a TK version?).  There's
also the ddd/xddd debugger.  I have ddd/xddd/gdb/xxgdb installed
right off the SuSE CD's.

There's also a debugger called UPS, but I'm not sure how well
it currently works on Linux.  I've only brought it up a few
times on Solaris.
