Hitachi SH1 egcs1.1 generating braf instuction.

I am using the egcs1.1 and cross compiling to a Hitachi SH1. The 
compiler is generating "braf" instructions (which is not a valid 
opcode for the SH1).  The -m1 switch is being passed (signifying 
sh1). 
  Any help/experience would be appreciated.
