Hi,

There is a git mirror for gdb at:

http://sourceware.org/git/

Can we add a git mirror for binutils?

I also like to see this happen.

Several months ago I set up a binutils mirror on github.com. But it's
not stable because of bugs in cvsps. Several days ago, after I fixed
bugs I found in cvsps I set up a new binutils mirror:

http://blackfin.uclinux.org/git/?p=jiez/mirrors/binutils.git;a=summary

There might be unknown bugs in cvsps. So the git mirror might be
changed in the future. The good is it's very easy to migrate working
branches from one git tree to another.

I will take a look at setting that up.

Thanks!

Jie, would you please send me the Author mapping file you've used?

I does not do author mapping in my git tree.

H.J. (or whoever can say, with authority),

Do you want to keep all of the existing branches?

Speaking for myself, I would like to keep all branches in git mirror.

Are you interested in making any meta-data (authorship or log) changes,
e.g., if git commits should reflect an author different from the
cvs committer?

Also speaking for myself, I have no preference on this. We have ChangeLog entry for each commit to record the authorship.

Jie
