OK then, how about adding a variant of the -T switch which explicitly delays processing its argument until the point at which the default linker script would be processed ?

Easy. How about -W? There's only a few single letters available.

Mmm, I amnot keen on single letter switches. How about:

--replacement-default-linker-script=<foo>
